Pramod Hindurao is an influential NCP leader from Thane and his name was announced over the weekend. The post fell vacant after the demise of the former chairman late Nakul Patil. The new CIDCO chief is considered close to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and NCP leader Ajit Pawar. Speaking to the media while taking charge officially at CIDCO, Pramod Hindurao thanked NCP President Sharad Pawar and other senior party leaders for his appointment and assured that he would live up to their expectations.
CIDCO, set up in 1970, has been tasked with development of new urban areas. Pramod Hindurao takes charge at a time when CIDCO is under the scanner for many scams and controversies. Speaking on this, the new chairman said that the law will take its due course and henceforth, CIDCO will maintain transparency.
