United Kingdom asked to pay extra in EU budget

Looking at the way the United Kingdom had performed in the recent years, it has been asked to an extra £1.7bn (2.1bn euros) towards the European Union’s budget. The UK economy has shown progress in the recent past. While this has not gone down well with the UK, the extra payment has come due to the new calculation by the European budget.

Generally, the UK annual contribution is £8.6bn. However, this steep demand is not being called not acceptable with the David Cameron government with certain MPs saying that the demand should be refused. Sana Warsia – International Desk, NMTV
