1. CHILD LABOR STILL AN UNFORTUNATE REALITY IN THE CITY OF THE 21st CENTURY

The Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha with the support of Nerul police helped three children come out of the chains of child labor. Social worker and BJP Yuva Morcha worker Sunil Honrao filed a complaint at Nerul Police station against a hotel and dairy at Darave village on charges of child labor. Three child labors were freed from here. They were working here for several months. When the news that the owners of this hotel and dairy were booked for child labor that has been banned, several shops went on a spree of relieving children working with them. Children are God’s most refreshing creations and they are the future of every country. They need to grow in an environment that enables them to lead a life of freedom and dignity. Opportunities of education and training must be provided to them to grow into worthy citizens. And of course, the govt. has made ample arrangements for the same. But in reality, or rather an unfortunate reality a large population of children are still deprived of their basic fundamental rights. Instead of playing and studying in the most delightful years of their life they have to slog out day after day at work places to make both ends meet. Of late, child labor has been on the rise in India with a huge no. of underprivileged children ending up working in various commercial sectors, unorganized sector being the main area. The children at work places are often subjected to heavy torture, both physical and mental. They are denied their basic rights and often have to work in inhuman conditions. Though a ban has been enforced on child labor, only its strict implementation will make it successful.
