53 media persons in Mumbai test positive for Coronavirus

The Coronavirus pandemic has hard-hit the State of Maharashtra, ravaging the city of Mumbai with rise in COVID-19 patients.

According to a Mumbai civic official,  atleast 53 media persons from the metropolitan city of Mumbai have been tested positive of COVID-19

During a special camp organised at Azad Maidan in Mumbai on April 16 and 17 for Covid-19 testing, the (BMC) Brihanmumbai  Municipal Corporation collected swab samples of 171 media persons, which  included electronic  and print media journalist, photographers and cameramen out of  which 53 media person came out to be tested positive for Covid-19, Vijay Khabale, a spoke person of BMC stated that most of those tested positive for Coronavirus are asymptomatic cases at present.

All the media persons infected with the virus will be kept under isolation at a hotel in Goregaon for the next 14 days. All possible efforts  are also being undertaken to trace the high and low risk contacts.
