Countries light up to mark fight against Coronavirus

Prime Minister Narendra Modi called out his countrymen ushering them to perform the deed of oneness and harmony urging the citizens to switch off lights and light a candle, diya or torch to show solidarity and offer 9 minutes for India to mark the country’s battle against Coronavirus.

While the glooms of coronavirus overshadows the world globally, yet countries have been showing cohesion and unity by putting up lights to dispel the darkness of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Here are the countries igniting the world with lights and candles spreading positivity and solidarity to combat the Coronavirus pandemic.

Adhering to the norms of social-distancing the worst hit country by the Coronavirus pandemic joined together in a nation-wide ‘flash mob of lights’ leaving the gloomy streets of Italy sparkling while breaking the monotony of sickness.  Italians switched off their lights and held up mobile phones, torches and candles from their windows and balconies amid their impromptu encouraging slogans of Italy’s coronavirus quarantine: Andrà tutto bene, ‘Everything will be Alright’.

Russia spread the message of love to the world by showing solidarity towards Italy as it wrestles to contain the outbreak of the deadly Coronavirus pandemic which claimed over 15,887 deaths.
Uplifting the spirit of the Italians, Russia lit up candles in the shape of an Italian flag sending the words out loud, “Italia, siamo con te!” (Italy, we stand by you!)

Christmas arrived early at the United States of America as citizens decked up Christmas trees with twinkiling lights to spread the joyous spirit and dust off the negativity ailing the world with anxiety and sickness.

The iconic giant staute of Christ the redeemer, overlooking the city of Rio de Janeiro lit up with flags of all the countries in a move to honour them and show message of solidarity and hope to countries affected by
the Coronavirus pandemic.

Egypt’s Mistry of Tourism and Antiquities lit up the Great Pyramid of Giza with an urging message of solidarity, awareness and appreciation over coronavirus outbreak. The lights displayed the message both in English and Arabic which read, “Stay home. Stay safe and Thank you to those keeping us safe.”

Amid the ongoing Coronavirus crisis, Iran iconic Azadi Tower projected the messages of ‘togetherness’ for the virus affected countries offering solidarity with messages like “we stand together”, “we stand against coronavirus”, “we stay strong” across its cities as well as globally.

With love, solidarity, support and above all hope, we believe the world will soon heal and come forth as victors against it’s battle with Coronavirus.
