The Narendra Modi led government has successfully managed to complete one year of its second term on India’s ever-changing political landscape. On Saturday, PM Narendra Modi wrote an open letter addressing the masses India, accounting his achievements, reformations and struggles his government had to undergo in the past one year.
PM Modi’s letter listed his governments achievements including, abolishing of Article 370, settlement issues of Ram Temple, Banning of Triple Talaq, and the amendment to the Citizenship Act.
PM Narendra Modi said in his letter “This day last year began a golden chapter in the history of Indian democracy. It was after several decades that the people of the country voted back a full-term government with a full majority. Once again, I bow to the 130 crore people of India and the democratic ethos of our nation,”
Quoting the abrogation of Article 370, Triple Talaq and Ram Temple, Prime Minister Modi reiterated that these decisions furthered the spirit of national unity and integration.
Referring to consentient judgement of Supreme court on the Ram temple in Ayodhya, PM Modi said it brought a cordial end to a debate persisting for centuries.
Taking up the criminal offence of Triple Talaq PM Modi bluntly stated it to be a barbaric practice which now has been confined to the dustbin of history.
“While on one hand are powers with great economic resources and state-of-the-art healthcare systems, on the other hand is our country besieged with problems amidst a vast population and limited resources,” said PM Modi
Listing the creation of the post the Chief of Defence Staff, PM Modi called it a long-pending reform which has now improved co-ordination amongst armed forces.
PM Modi’s letter contained several citizen-friendly laws which were implemented which came out to be record breakers of the Parliament’s decade old accounts in terms of productivity.
He further added that though the outbreak of the global COVID-19 pandemic is a time of crisis for Indians but it also stands as a time for a firm resolve.
In his letter PM has pushed his agenda of Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan urging Indians to move forward based on their own abilities, in their own way, citing that there is only one way to do it, that is to go self reliant to create the building of – Aatmanirbhar Bharat or Self-reliant India
The PM stated that the participation of 130 crore Indians has surprised and inspired the world by being involved in the development of the nation’s trajectory.
Not being negligent of the migrant crisis that India undergoes as of present, PM Modi calling it a ‘tremendous suffering’ on labourers, migrant workers, hawkers and small scale industries stated that the nation must be cautioned that the inconveniences it faces today should not turn to be disasters.
