The continuing upsurge in Coronavirus infections are adding to city’s woes posing a grave challenge for NMMC Chief Abhijit Bangar to initiate COVID-19 strategies on a war-footing level.
Given the increasing number of Coronavirus infections coming to fore in the city, a definite and a well-balanced COVID Action Plan with proactive measures is utmost for Navi Mumbai.
Therefore, keeping in mind the surging COVID-19 levels the civic body has undertaken the ‘Mission Break the Chain’ approach to tackle and combat spike in virus cases.
NMMC Commissioner Abhijit Bangar notified the initial major objectives of ‘Mission Break the Chain’ focussing on measures adopting 10-days of aggressive monitoring and screening activities in the 42 Hotspots areas designated by the civic body under the extended lockdown till July 31.
Abhijit Bangar’s entry as NMMC Chief brought in Navi Mumbai the ramped up COVID Antigen Testings, attributing a reduction in the turnaround time of results, with increase in testings, hope glimmers that with the support and cooperation from citizens and activists, the efforts of ‘Mission Break the Chain’ might prove to be a success.
COVID-19 cases in Navi Mumbai is speedily rising day by day, as of July 22, 303 virus infections were recorded hitting the total count to 12,269, whereas, the death toll rose to 358 with 7,925 patients being recovered from COVID-19.
Since the transfer, NMMC Chief Abhijit Bangar’s COVID approach has garnered positive response from Navi Mumbaikars and with ‘Mission Break The Chain’ coming into being it aspires to strengthen the city’s COVID battle, only to yield promising results when implemented to its fullest.
