Nagpur civic chief Tukaram Mundhe transferred to Mumbai

Nagpur Municipal Commissioner Tukaram  Mundhe, who took charge of the post eight months ago, and he was transferred on Wednesday by the Maharashtra government in a bureaucratic reshuffle involving 16 IAS officers.

Tukaram Mundhe said on Tuesday that he has been tested positive for COVID19. Mundhe tweeted “I have tested positive for #COVID19. I am asymptomatic and have isolated myself as per the protocol & guidelines. Request everyone who has come in my contact for last 14 days to get tested,”

The civic commissioner further said he is working from home to control the pandemic situation here in Maharashtra.

An Official statement said that Tukaram  Mundhe has been  posted as member secretary of Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran in Mumbai.

Tukaram Mundhe has been transferred 15 times in his career.

Mundhe has been replaced by Radhakrishan B as Mundhe was facing opposition from local politicians. Mahavikas Aghadi’s own leaders and Ministers have complained to CM Uddhav Thackeray against Tukaram Mundhe also BJP which in power in Nagpur have also made similar complaints to CM officer that Mundhe doesn’t pay heed to their suggestions and doesn’t do their work.
