Even as environmentalists and tiger lovers keep crying for more, the Maharashtra state seems to be doing otherwise. In a new report that has come to light, the state’s Forest Advisory Committee has given a green signal to a proposal that allows nearly 88 hectares tiger land to industry.
The company named Solar Industries India Ltd manufactures explosives. The current value of the land is Rs. 100 Crores and falls in the area of Chakdoh in Nagpur.
While three reports that the government asked for from different committees opposed the proposal, the state has still given its green signal for it.
The land that will be commercially exploited to manufacture explosives has flora, fauna and is home to leopards and tigers.
