8TH LAWN TENNIS ALL INDIA RANKING CHAMPIONSHIP

tennisNavi Mumbai Sports Association is conducting the 8TH All India Ranking Championship Series under the Aegis of All India Tennis Association and Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association this. Details with this report. The 8th All India Ranking Championship saw Boys and Girls from under 16 age group competing with each other. The competition which began on the 4th of January will culminate on the 8th of January 2010 at NMSA Tennis Courts. Navi Mumbai Sports Association is conducting the Eight All India Ranking Championship Series under the Aegis of All India Tennis Association and Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association and will be giving Rs 400 /- to each participant as a daily allowance. We spoke with the participants who had come from different states who said that they were eager to know their ranking at the National Level. We spoke with the All India Tennis Association and Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association supervisor Rashmi Chauhan who said that the sports event was conducted to encourage the participants. There are points given to winners, which gives them a ranking. She also said that India is growing in Tennis at a global level as there are tournaments held by AITA regularly. With such initiatives being taken, hopefully these efforts behind these initiatives will produce tennis players which may even represent India at the Wimbledon.
