A 6.3 magnitude earthquake jolts China killing seven people and severely affecting 80 000 more, Beijing

Sunday, Sichuan Province was struck with a 6.3 magnitude earthquake. The natural disaster resulted in the death of seven people while around 100 have been reported to be in critical condition. Apart from the casualties around 80 000 other people were affected and around 25 000 homes completely destroyed. The authorities and the rescue team had jumped into action within two hours of the incident. This included a 35 member of rescue team of armed police, six military aircraft, 60 medical staff and nearly 1000 soldiers were ready for the rescue operation. Because of the swift action the authorities were successful in relocating 6200 people while the search is still on as the number of missing people is still increasing.
