H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, inspected the pavilions of the World Future Energy Summit (WFES), one of the main events of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week.
Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week – hosted from 16 to 23 January by Masdar, Abu Dhabi’s renewable energy company – is the Middle East’s largest gathering of international players focused on addressing the interconnected challenges of energy and water security, climate risk and sustainable development.
In excess of 33,000 delegates, over 80 heads and ministers of state, and other visitors from more than 170 countries are expected to attend the policy dialogues, conferences, exhibitions and events that make up Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2016.
Sheikh Abdullah visited the pavilion of Masdar and was briefed on Dr. Ahmad Belhoul, CEO of Masdar, on the company’s efforts and clean energy projects displayed at the pavilion.
During his tour, Sheikh Abdullah also visited the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) and was briefed by Mohammed Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Chief Executive Officer of the ENEC on the UAE’s peaceful nuclear programme. Sheikh Abdullah also toured Expo 2020 pavilion, which is expected to be a milestone in the history of World Expo.
