ABSENCE OF A SUBWAY MAKES TURBHE NAKA A DANGEROUS ACCIDENT PRONE ZONE

The absence of a subway or over bridge on the Thana Vashi Railway Line at the Turbhenaka and Janta Market Crossing junction is leading to several accidents. With the number increasing by the day, commuters voiced their concern to Navi Mumbai News. Pleas and requests of commuters and local residents to look into the matter are falling on deaf years as no action is being initiated. The problems have mounted with the increase in the frequency of trains on the Thana Vashi Rail Line as crossing the road from Turbhe Naka to Janta Market has become more risky. With the area dotted with schools, colleges, Tubhe colony and Janta Market on one side and Hanuman Nagar, Indiranagar, Ganesh Nagar and Ambedkar Nagar on the other side, thousands of locals, school going children, labors and college goers have to use the railway crossing to go to the other side. This is also one of the reasons why there are small accidents daily. The residents realizing the risks involved are demanding that the authorities construct a subway or over bridge here. The locals informed to Navi Mumbai News and said that they have brought the situation to the attention of the Navi Mumbai Muncipal Corporation and Railways but no authorities have initiated any action so far. Even though there is a small bridge to walk near main road at Turbhe Naka but the distance discourages locals to use that bridge. Locals say that the authorities have wasted money by constructing such a bridge without studying the needs of the area or the convenience of the residents. The BJP Kamgaar Yuva Morcha has decided to take up the issue with CIDCO and other concerned authorities
