A man filed a complaint in court in which he accused a woman of insulting and defaming him on Whatsapp. According to the man the woman had been continuously texting him messages further even tarnishing his reputation. When brought in the court the woman did admit to her behavior but reportedly rejected the court ruling. Although the man was a Saudi but the nationality of the woman was not disclosed. The act of insulting or defaming somebody through information technology devices is considered as a serious crime in Saudi Arabia and if found guilty the accused can end up to imprisonment as well as fine that varies accordingly.
