After Narayan Rane, now Maragaret Alwa and Prabha Rao too have trained their gun to attack Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh. This occasion was to welcome the new Himachal Pradesh Governor Prabha Rao to Mumbai but it turned out to be an event that surfaced the indifference within the Maharashtra State Congress Party. Leaving a few, the speeches of all the other leaders somewhere attacked the Chief Minister VRD on one front or the other. While both CM VRD and State Revenue Minister Narayan Rane were absent during the vent, Senior Congress Leader Margaret Alwa and Dr. Patangrao Kadam was present for the event. To the severa questions that the media bombarded on these leaders while none of them attacked CM VRD directly but Dr. Patangrao Kadam did say that in Congress party no one expect for the party High commands was the final word and when the PM Manmohan Singh too listens to Sonia Gandhi then no one else should think that their chair is powerful and they can do anything sitting on it. Even senior NCP leader Vasant Daukhare did not miss a chance to comment on the issue. The usually calm Margaret Alwa too spoke in an aggressive tone against those who call her and Prabha Rao oldies. After the event, Margaret Alwa told the media that the decision on Narayan Rane’s resignation would be taken only by Sonia Gandhi. She further added that Narayan Rane had infact given his resignation a month ago. Beyond any doubt nothing but Sonia Gandhi’s favorite man seems to be the only reason CM VRD is sitting in the highest political office of the state but the Congress will definitely have to pay for its indifferences in the coming elections.
