An AIDS Awareness Program was conducted at the truck terminal at Vashi. Milind Tambe has the details. There are nearly 5.7 million HIV AIDS affected persons in the world with the number in India being 2.5 million. No pints for guessing that the risk to the city is as high. With the aim of creating awareness about the fatal diseases in one of the most affected sections of public, the Population Service International joined hands with Apollo Tyres to launch a mobile clinic for the same. The clinic was made operational in an inaugural event held at the Truck Terminal at Vashi. It’s a prayer that the attempts helps spread the right message and controls the numbers getting infected by the HIV virus everyday.
