Airoli MLA Sandeep Naik took up one of the most burning issues of Navi Mumbai in the on-going Maharashtra State Monsoon Session. It may be recalled that along with party corporators and citizens, Airoli MLA Sandeep Naik had met Rajesh Naik Superintending Engineer, MSEDCL at the Vashi Circle MSEDC office and taken up some of the most difficult issues in regards to power supply. There are abrupt power cuts without prior announcements, officials and employees don’t respond to public calls while citizens pay heavy power bills each month in return of extremely deteriorating and poor power services. There has also been an incident of a girl who was electrocuted by an open power cable in Ghansoli exposing massive negligence at all levels by MSEDC. While taking up the issue in the on-going state assembly monsoon session, the MLA reiterated that Navi Mumbai is one of the highest revenue generating cities for MSEDC hence, the state must look into all citizens’ grievances and improve power services in the city. He questioned the State Energy Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule if they would allot budget for sub-stations and more manpower for monsoon season.
In his reply, Maharashtra Energy Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule assured of addressing the issue at the earliest and if needed will take a meeting with Regional Director of Konkan Division at MSEDC.
