Angelina Jolie admits marriage to Brad Pitt is an ‘extraordinary feeling’

After 10 years and six kids together, Angelina Jolie’s life with Brad Pitt wasn’t exactly short on commitment.

But following their marriage last year, the Hollywood actress reveals that being able to call him her husband has taken their relationship to a whole new level.

The superstar pair, who met on the set of Mr & Mrs Smith in 2005, ended years of speculation when they tied the knot in August with a wedding that was truly a family affair.

Their children Maddox and Pax walked Mum down the aisle, while Zahara and Vivienne were flower girls, and Shiloh and Knox were ring bearers. The kids’ drawings even featured on Angelina’s couture veil.

Speaking for the first time about the reasons she and Brad finally fulfilled their long engagement, Angelina explains: “What was lovely about it was that we didn’t feel there was something missing or we needed to get married.

“We felt so complete, and the commitment to children is one that you cannot walk away from, so we already had that commitment.

“It was really that we wanted to re-commit and commit in a deeper way, and we wanted to celebrate the union with our children.”

She adds: “And it does feel different when you say, ‘my husband’ or ‘my wife’. It warms you in a different way and you look at that person a little differently.

“As soon as it was all over, we all just changed clothes and hung out. It was just a very happy time. It wasn’t this monumental change – we were just very happy and sure, and it’s quite an extraordinary feeling to be so sure. It gives you peace.”
