Animal Husbandry Minister held hostage by angry villagers for trying to fraud with their property in Bihar, India

In a shocking incident Animal Husbandry Minister Baidyanath Sahni had been held hostage by angry villagers for trying to fraud with their property. According to the villagers a land had been donated by a villager Surendra Chaudhary to the college for purpose of an educational institution, but Baidyanath had fraudulently registered the property in his name. Despite aware of the protest by the villagers Baiyanath still went ahead with laying the foundation of a petrol station on the land accompanied by several supporters. When the villagers protested the whole ceremony they were been brutally beaten up and even fire was opened to chase them away. But as soon as the nearby villagers came to know about the brutal attack on the villagers they came in united to fight against the Minister. Many of Ministers vehicles had been burned down, the foundation stone had also been thrown while some of the angry villagers held the Minister hostage in one of the rooms of the college.

It was only after four hours when the local administration had persuaded and convinced the villagers that if there was any fraud in the papers the Minister would not be handed the land that the villagers set the helpless Minister free to go.  Kiran Kidwai – International Desk, NMTV
