APMC Vegetable Wholesale Traders protest new Direct Trade policy

APMC Wholesale Vegetable Association protested against the trading that was happening due to Direct Trading and the illegal trading that got a boost to it.

Direct marketing has led to heavy losses for the traders in Agricultural Produce Market Committee. The Wholesale Vegetable Association organized a press meet to inform the same. Director of the vegetable market Shankar Pingle informed that they have demanded from the State marketing Secretary to cancel the licenses.

He alleged that in the last three months, nearly 5000 trucks have directly gone to Mumbai without paying cess. Due to this while huge losses are incurred in terms of revenue, it has also impacted the business of the merchants and traders and is only benefiting the illegal traders. He said that they have given a time till August 9 and if any solution is not found then they would go on a protest along with not paying cess. The President of the Wholesale Vegetable Association informed about the misuse of the licenses given under Direct Trading. With cameraperson Vinayak Dalvi, Gangasingh Rajpurohit for NMTV News.
