Auction of Digha plots now to done online by MIDC

In a smart move to thwart future encroachments, MIDC has put on sale seven plots in Digha, on which illegal buildings had come up and were recently demolished, following a High Court order.

The MIDC has put all the industrial and commercial plots on online auction through its official website. Although these plots were put on auction two to three months ago, they did not get any response from buyers due to encroachment issues.

“We have put up the seven Digha plots online for auction through our website. These industrial and commercial plots have been cleared of illegal encroachment recently. The illegal buildings have been demolished and now they can be promptly auctioned off to the winning bidders,” said Prakash Chavan, executive engineer (encroachment) of MIDC, Mahape.

These plots were earlier put on auction about two to three months ago. However, no one was interested as illegal structures had come up on them. Hence the auction did not receive any quotation, said Chavan.

“As we have removed the encroachments, we hope interested parties will participate in the online tender to buy these plots,” he added.midc-logo
