The rickshaws of the city went on day’s strike. The demand was to remove Dy. Regional Transport Officer Bharat Kalaskar. Speaking to NMTV News, the union leader of rickshaws said that the Dy. Regional Office has not cooperated with them on any of their demands. They allege that they wanted to take out a morcha today but the Dy. Regional Officer in a meeting with Navi Mumbai police pressurized them to not take out a morcha. On the other hand, Dy. Regional Transport Officer Bharat Kalaskar denied the allegations and claimed that all the issues of rickshaws wallahs have been settled. Meanwhile, the commuters had a tough time due to the strike. The strike was definitely uncalled for and issues like these should be avoided both by the rickshaw unions and RTO Office in the larger interest of the general public.
