The post-mortem report of Kamini Giri (26), whose body was recovered from a pond in Nerul on Thursday, has confirmed that the housewife was murdered and then dumped in the pond along Palm Beach Road. The Nerul Police is still searching for the missing nine-month-old infant in orphanages in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. The autopsy report has revealed injury marks around the neck and on one hand of the victim whose parents have been called from Orissa for inquiry. Meanwhile the police are questioning her neighbors and in-laws. Only further tests will confirm if the victim was raped or not, the police inform. The victim was last seen at 11.30 am on Tuesday, leaving her flat at Gharkul society at Nerul, along with her son, Kamlesh, to buy a few medicines from a local chemist. She was wearing a nightgown and also gold earrings, mangalsutra, gold bangles and silver toe-rings. Since all the ornaments were also recovered along with her body on Thursday, theft does not seem to be the motive of the murder.
