In the political circles of Navi Mumbai, Ganesh Naik and Manda Mhatre are considered bitter rivals. And that’s the reason Manda Mhatre had left NCP and Naik for BJP. What’s more, fighting on a BJP ticket, she even managed to defeat him in the assembly elections by a margin of 1400 votes. Soon after, the political circles were abuzz with the news of Ganesh Naik too leaving NCP for BJP. On the cue, Manda Mhatre made her disapproval apparent in a meet with party workers at Vashi’s Vishnudas Bhave Sabhagrah. Without naming ganesh Naik, she said that some people are trying to enter BJP in exchange of thousands of crores of rupees. How can a party with the slogan of ‘corruption free India’ can accommodate such a corrupt person? She asked rhetorically, pouring cold water on Ganesh Naik’s efforts.
Launching a scathing attack on Naik, she said that she had told the party president not to accept such a corrupt person into party, lest he wants to malign its image. She said that Naik is spreading these rumours himself in order to confuse BJP workers. She also accused Naik of fooling Navi Mumbaikars by falsely promising FSI since last 15 years. She assured that she will get FSI approved within a couple of months.
