Nationalist Congress Party Chief Sharad Pawar has again raised doubts over Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) machines, saying that people will lose confidence in elections if BJP wins in Baramati. Reacting to the NCP chief’s statements, Revenue Minister Chandrakant Patil said that Sharad Pawar had sensed his daughter’s defeat from the Baramati seat and hence, was making such statements. He said that the NCP chief is making excuses in anticipation of defeat of Supriya Sule.
Speaking to the media in Jalgaon, Chandrakant Patil said that if opposition MPs are elected, then there is no EVM tampering but if the BJP is re-elected, then Sharad Pawar thinks that EVMs have been manipulated. He termed this as “absurd logic”.
He added that it was the Congress party that had introduced the EVMs.
If the BJP does manage to wrest Baramati from Sharad Pawar, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that BJP under Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has replaced Sharad Pawar as the tallest leader in Maharashtra. Zeba Warsia – NMTV News.
