Blast reported at Bharat Petroleum plant creates panic in Mumbai’s Mahul

A Level- III fire broke out at the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited-RMP plant in Chembur, Mumbai today. 9 fire tenders, 2 foam tenders and 2 jumbo tankers were rushed to the spot. No casualties have been reported till now. The reason for the fire is not known as yet. According to PTI report, fire broke out after explosions were heard. this afternoon, a Fire Brigade official said. The plant at Mahul road in Chembur area of Mumbai caught fire at around 3 pm, the official said.

As per the latest report. Fire broke out at Hydro Cracker plant of BPCL (Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited) refinery is now under control; 21 people injured including 1 in critical condition.

Several workers are feared trapped inside the plant, though there were no reports of casualties.
