The bodies of the two Emirati pilots killed when their jet crashed in Yemen arrived in Al Bateen Airport in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.
Zayed Ali Al Kaabi, 37, and Mohammed Obaid Al Hmoudi, 25, died when their Mirage fighter jet came down due to a “technical fault”.
Their bodies were brought home by a military aircraft to a full military reception.
The funerals will take place on Wednesday. Zayed Al Kaabi’s funeral will be held at Sheikh Zayed’s Grand Mosque in Fujairah while Mohamed Al Hmoudi’s funeral will be held at Sheikh Rashid bin Ahmed Al Qassemi’s mosque in Dibba Al Hosn.
They were serving in the Saudi-led Arab coalition’s Operation Restoring Hope, in Yemen.
The speaker of the Arab Parliament, Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan, expressed his heartfelt condolences and solace on behalf of the Arab nation to the families of the two martyrs as well as to the UAE people.
‘’The Arab nation will not forget its brave sons who were martyred while defending its pride and dignity,” Mr Al Jarwan said. “I wish Allah Almighty to rest them in Paradise and to grant patience and solace to their families.
