Chief Minister Devendra Fadavnis set to make Navi Mumbai a BJP fortress

The air in Navi Mumbai is changing and saffron colors are painting political strongholds of the city. The inauguration of the new building of Shri Kulaswami Cooperative Credit Society by Chief Minister Devendra Fadavnis was not just BJP’s show strength but also showed how the Chief Minister is personally eyeing to make Navi Mumbai a BJP fortress. A day after making annoucements to various committees of the state, the KulSwami event became more like a coronation ceremony for Vijay Nahata who has taken charge as Chairman of Mumbai Slum Improvement Board, Narendra Patil who is appointed as chair of Annasaheb Patil Financial Development Corporation and Prashant Thakur who is now CIDCO Chairman. Decked with confidence, the trio took the dais with Belapur MLA Manda Mhatre and Airoli MLA Sandeep Naik among others. In his address, there were several indications that brought to the fore how Navi Mumbai is on the Chief Minister Devendra Fadavnis’s political agenda. He first went all out for the APMC, both farmers and merchants.

He then promised to them that he will ensure all APMC related issues are resolved within one month.

While Ganesh Naik chose to remain absent for the event, Airoli MLA Sandeep Naik witnessed when the Chief Minister called out to Narendra Patil and said that as Chairman of Annasaheb Patil Financial Development Corporation, he will play the role of turning youth into entrepreneurs.

With CM Devendra Fadnavis personally taking interest in Navi Mumbai, Ganesh Naik’s NCP fortress is in danger for the first time since it was formed. NMMC is one of the few corporations controlled by NCP but with CM Devendra Fadnavis giving representation to almost all the sections and addressing the age old issues of Navi Mumbai it gives a good chance to BJP win NMMC next time just like Panvel City Municipal Corporation. It will be interesting how the Navi Mumbai strong man Ganesh Naik handles this testing times of his career only time will tell. Zeba Warsia – NMTV News.
