Powerful earthquake of 7.0 magnitude hit China on Saturday. The earthquake struck eight miles below the surface in Ya’an County, and the effect of the powerful earthquake was also disastrous. The quake resulted in death of 180 people, with the number still increasing. Thousands of people were injured and more than that were left stranded homeless. The panic among the people had not seized within that, as the area had received two more severe jolts of quake after the 7 magnitude earthquake. Since the jolts were of 5 magnitudes, the effects were limited but the already terrified people were seen running out of their homes, hospitals or whatever their shelter were to outside in the streets.
Ministry of Civil Affairs had reported that they are trying to help the people immediately, as they have already dispatched 30 000 tents, 50 000 blankets and around 10 000 makeshift beds to the affected area. While the numbers of the death and people missing are increasing within every minute, the rescue operations are trying with their all might to retrieve and reach the people, many who are buried in the debris, whether alive or dead.
