CITY ADVOCATE MEETS PRESIDENT OF INDIA PRATIBHA PATIL WITH APPEAL FOR SOCIAL EQUALITY OF WOMEN

Savitri manch, a Navi Mumbai based women’s organization held a press conference in Mumbai. The conference was held to inform that the Manch’s President Adv Rupali Kakade had met with the President of India Pratibha Patil and appealed to demolish the social classification of women. Savitri Manch is a Navi Mumbai based women’s organization which carries out various projects for the welfare of the poor and needy women. The organization held a press conference recently in Mumbai. The conference was held to inform the members that the Manch’s President Adv Rupali Kakade had met with the President of India Pratibha Patil and appealed to demolish the social classification of women to include wives of army men and prominently those of martyrs in 33% reservations. Furthermore, they appealed that for the upliftment of women in the country a special section should be included in the Indian constitution. According to them, women empowerment is very important.
