NMMC Opposition leader and local corporator Dashrath Bhagat along with Vashi ward officer along with several NMMC officials were present during the cleanliness drive. The attempt of the students and their guides to clean the area included the drains and gutters without any hesitation is quite appreciable. The effect of a college’s Principal, opposition leader and students cleaning was immediately seen as several locals of the area came out of the house and started cleaning their vicinity with the group. The youth today is often a subject of criticism and so the efforts and example set by Modern College students is praiseworthy. NMMC Opposition Leader Dashrath Bhagat said that when public representatives take such initiatives it assists the administration and eventually benefits the city. Principal B A Patil said that students indulging in such activities are needed. Vashi ward officer said that though the NMMC administration is at the public’s service, such activities are very helpful.
