CM HONORS KRISHNA PATIL FOR CLIMBING MT. EVEREST

krishna--patilKrishna Patil became the first Maharashtrian woman to conquer the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest. The Chief Minister felicitated Krishna Patil at Vidhan Bhavan. The Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee gave Krishna Patil Rs. 5 lacs and have promised a house to the Pune girl under the government quota. Chief Minister Ashok Chavan felicitated Krishna Patil at Vidhan Bhavan. Krishna Patil became the first Maharashtrian woman to conquer the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest. She scaled Mount Everest around 7am. The Pune-based Krishna Patil was part of a commercial expedition organized by Asian Trekking Agency in Nepal. The Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee gave Krishna Patil Rs. 5 lacs and have promised a house to the Pune girl under the government quota. Krishna Patil, age 25 years has become only the second Maharashtrian to conquer the 8,848-metre high peak. Surendra Chavan was the first from the state to achieve the feat, in 1998.
