COLORFUL START TO MAHATMA HANSRAJ ARYAN TOURNAMENT AT DAV MANAGED J H AMBANI SCHOOL

dav-3The much awaited DAV Western Region’s Mahatma Hansraj Aryan Tournament 2008 started in a colorful ceremony at DAV Managed J H AMbani School at Lodhivali. Present as the chief guest was Arjuna Award winner Suma Shirur. Known for its excellence in not just academics but also sports, like every year this year too DAV Western region held the Indian Mahatma Hansraj Aryan Sports Competition 2008. The inaugural ceremony was held at J H Ambani School, Lodhivali. Present during the inauguration were around 2000 students of 19 schools across Maharashtra, Gujarat and Rajasthan. Present as the chief guest was Arjun Puruskar winner Suma Shiroor. Also present was Raigad table Tennis Association President Sanjay Kadu, DAV Western Regional Director Dr. K B Kushal and principals of various DAV schools. The competition which aims at promoting sports talent in the students culminated with the march past by the players. The event started by setting off balloons at the hands of the dignitaries. The Chief Guest on the occasion Arjun Awardee winner Suma Shirur said that there is an urgent need for sports being valued as a profession. Sanjay Kadu suggested that CBSE should incorporate marks for sports. DAV Western Region Director Dr. K B Kushal spoke about the significance of such events.
