Congress and NCP to take out Padyatras against CM Devendra Fadnavis ahead of Winter session

The NCP led by Sharad Pawar and the Congress led by its state president Ashok Chavan will take out separate padyatras to Nagpur Vidhan Bhavan to protest chief minister Devendra Fadnavis’s failure to implement the farm loan waiver scheme, check deteriorating law and order, arrest unemployment arising due to demonetisation and halt farmer suicides.
On December 1, the NCP will start its padyatra from Yavatmal district, which has witnessed the maximum number of farmer suicides as well as deaths owing to handling of pesticides. It will culminate at Nagpur on December 11, the first day of the winter session of the legislature. The Congress will take out a rally from Aurangabad on November 26 and it will reach Nagpur on December 12.
Senior NCP leader Ajit Pawar and State NCP president Sunil Tatkare said that ever since Fadnavis took over the reins in 2014, he has been misleading the farmers and giving false hopes and assurances. “The CM has declared that loans will be waived by November 25, I am doubtful if the assurance will be fulfilled at all. I will not be surprised if the date is against extended,” he said.
