Commenting on the manifesto released by the Shiv sena-BJP, Chief Minister Ashok Chavan said that their manifesto will include only those works which are realistic and can be implemented. As Maharashtra goes to the polls on October 13, the question is will the incumbent Congress-led democratic government, pull off a third consecutive term in office. More critically, what does it have to offer by way of a vision for this once preeminent state? The party is yet to release its manifesto scheduled for the 2nd of October. During a press conference when Chief Minister Ashok was asked if the manifesto by the Shiv Sena BJP alliance would beat the Congress’s one in terms of poll promises, he said that while one could include many works in their agenda, the point is that they should have the power to implement. He said that the Congress would have a very realistic manifesto. Further expressing confidence in the work done by the government and fulfilling the promises of the citizens, he said that this time round too, government would be theirs. The Congress-NCP alliance will have a joint manifesto and run a joint campaign to counter the opposition BJP-Shiv Sena alliance. With cameraperson Ranjit Gupta, Dhiraj Mishra for NMTV News.
