CONGRESS MORCHA AGAINST VVF COMPANY FAILS TO ENSURE JUSTICE TO LABOURS

vvf-3The morcha taken out by the workers of VVF Company at Taloja, MIDC was once again unsuccessful. It maybe recalled that the company had fired 136 workers after which former MP Ramsheth Thakur along with the workers took out a morcha against the company. Looks like the workers of VVF Company will have a dark Diwali this time. On 7th October, VVF Company had fired 136 contract workers who had been working there for the last four years. These workers had taken out around 18 demonstrations demanding that they be made permanent and threatened the company that they would intensify their protest if they were not taken back till October 22. Unfortunately, this time too the morcha taken out under the guidance of MP Ramsheth Thakur did not move the company whose administration did not even come to meet the distressed workers. Raising slogans of continuing their protest on November 1, Ramsheth Thakur called off the protest. However, the violent morcha ended rather abruptly. Reliable sources revealed that an enthusiastic Ramsheth Thakur called off the morcha after political pressure. While this meant several workers loosing hope of celebrating Diwali this year, the morcha once again exposed how for political leaders such labors fights against the management are more of political support. For they fight till and point and then back off leaving the poor labors to fight their battles all alone. With cameraperson Dyaneshwar Mali, Sudhir Sharma for NMTV News.
