Looking at the increasing strong hold of the Shiv Sena party in the Thane constituency, Congress-NCP alliance is buckling up its shoes for the upcoming Lok sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections. Congress, NCP and RPI have decided to contest together from Thane. In wake of the upcoming elections, a party meet of all the three political parties – Congress, NCP and RPI was held in Thane. Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik who addressed the party workers advised them to forget their internal differences and contest the elections with unity. He stated that with internal differences, one could also face defeat in the elections. Speaking on the previous Lok sabha elections, he stated that despite self-confidence, the votes did not come in their favor. While the minister did not seen concern with the shifting of the former Mayor of Kalyan-Dombivali and a senior NCP leader Pundlik Mhatre to the Shiv Sena, the growing hold of the latter may put the NCP on testy grounds.
