CONGRESS’S MADHU JAIN DEFEATS CITY BUILDER SURESH HAWARE IN LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL ELECTIONS

City builder Suresh Haware of the popular Haware Engineers and Builders lost the legislative council elections to Congress’s Madhu Jain by 6 votes. When eminent builder Suresh Haware filed for the nominations for the one seat of the legislative council, many political analysist predicted that with the huge number of MLAs of the Congress and NCP party, his defeat was expected with huge variations. However, it was seen that Suresh Haware, in support with the BJP and Shiv Sena was successful in gaining many votes of the Congress and NCP MLAs, gave a hard time to Congress candidate Madhu Jain who won only with a difference of few votes. He defeated Suresh Haware with a mere six votes. However, stating that victory was all that mattered, Madhu Jain evaded the question of the division of the votes. However, Minister of Parliamentary affairs, Hashvardhan Patil admitted the same and stated that an enquiry would be set by the senior party leaders. Speaking on the defeat of Suresh Haware, Maharashtra BJP president NiItin Gadkari stated that this defeat was in a way victory for him as this elections has cleared the fact that the ruling front’s own MLAs were dissatisfied with the party. Suresh Haware stated that winning and losing was a part of elections. While NCP and Congress are elated with the victory of their candidate Madhu Jain, it has definitely put the question of why more than 30 MLAs of their party chose to select Suresh Haware.
