Navi Mumbai is a city under whose shelter dwells multiple religions in utmost peace and harmony, Among those that have added to divine presence and spirituality in the city of Navi Mumbai, is New Bombay Ayyappa Mission’s Swami Ayyappa temple. Built in the year, 1997 the Swami Ayyappa temple is one of the oldest temples of Navi Mumbai. For years, devotees of the temple wanted to get the chowk in the sector named after Swami Ayyappa and their request was taken up by their corporator Divya Gaikwad. Her efforts succeeded as the in an event, Mayor J D Sutar inaugurated the Swami Ayyappa Chowk in the presence of corporator Divya Gaikwad, former corporator Vaibhav Gaikwad, Vashi ward officer Diwakar Samel, President of New Bombay Ayyappa Mission Chandran Pillai, Secretary UBS Madan and Founder Member K Murlidharan among others. Mayor J D Sutar appreciated the efforts of Corporator Divya Gaikwad in getting the chowk named after Swami Ayyappa.

NCP Corporator Divya Gaikwad said it gives her utmost satisfaction that the demand of devotees of the temple has been fulfilled in her tenure.

The President and Founder Member of New Bombay Ayyappa Mission were all praises for the efforts of NCP Corporator Divya Gaikwad.

Citizens too appreciated the efforts of their corporator.
