With the decision taken by BMC to beautify strolling locations in the city, Dadar Chowpatty is too going to take a new look. With a budget of 5 crores, the BMC has decided to beautify Dadar Chowpatty to regain its lost beauty and make it one of Mumbai’s favorite hang out spots. The beautification will include removal of garbage and debris from the area and yellow sand would be spread on the seafront, which is currently lined with rocks. The stretch from Kirti College to the Mayor’s Bungalow would also be reclaimed to increase the space for strollers. The storm water drainage pipes, which let out sewerage into the sea, will be extended deeper into the sea so that the smell of dirty water can be taken care of. The BMC is also going to make sure that no construction is made along the stretch of the beach. With cameraperson Abhay Prasad and inputs from Sana Warsia, Rajeev Mishra for NMTV News.
