Delhi boys belonging to the Bois locker room group identified

Several Delhi school students from class X to XII have been questioned by the Delhi police in the investigations into the “Bois Locker Room”, an Instagram group on which obscene photos of underage girls and illicit messages which included filthy jokes and planning of a gang rape were shared and discussed.

The screenshots of these messages in the group chat went viral after some girls revolted them on social media platforms on Sunday and led to a public outrage. The Delhi police swung into action following the exposure of the chats.

One minor was arrested out of the 21 participants of the group. According to the Delhi police, they have identified 10 others members of the group. They have also requested Instagram to provide details of the group chats. Instagram, a social media platform owned by Facebook assured that it has taken the issue on a serious note and does not promote sexual violence and exploitation of women, especially minor girls. They also assured that objectionable content featuring minor girls was removed from the platform.

The Cyber Cell had filed an FIR in the case under sections 67, 67(A) of the Information Technology Act, and other IPC Sections on May 4.

Rajendra Pal Gautam, the minister of Delhi Women and Child Development stated that it was a shocking incident and that it is cannot be tolerated.

As soon as the posts went viral, a Mumbai-based cyber expert investigated the case, gathering information on the details of the admin and members of the group.
