Addressing the Indian community in Brussels for the 13th India-European Union (EU) summit, PM Narendra Modi made an impactful speech yet once again on an international platform. He said “terror must must be de-linked from religion”.
He said he had met leaders of EU through the day. Referring to his conversations he said that terrorism was the focal point of all discussions” and said that the World Bank, IMF, ratings agencies say if there is a ray of hope in the world, it is India.”
PM Modi said that until 9/11 happened in US, the west always termed terrorism in India as a “law and order” issue.
PM Modi said that India had lost more lives to terrorism, than it lost in struggle for independence.
He said that if the UN did not define terrorism soon, the UN would be irrelevant.
PM Modi also listed his government’s achievements in 2015 during his speech. NRIs investing in India will get the same benefits as resident Indians investing here, PM Modi told the Indian community in his address that lasted over an hour. The prime minister also held meetings with leaders of the Hindu forum Europe and Hindu Forum Belgium. The India-European Union Summit had last taken place in 2012. He said the summit “will advance multifaceted engagement across a whole range of sectors” and described the 27-member bloc as a vital trading partner. Bureau report – NMTV News.
