Now CIDCO had proof officially – that a third party has been formed at the MGM Hospital at Vashi without taking permission from them. This amounts to breach of agreement between Vashi’s MGM Hospital and CIDCO and calls for immediate action of either canceling the agreement or sealing the pharmacy that operates illegally within MGM Hospital. But CIDCO General Manager V S Marathe continues to just write letter after letter instead of taking action against MGM. “Notional rent” – that’s what MGM Hospital is calling the Rs. 74, 45, 718 being shown in its account as rent. The explanation comes in writing after CIDCO demanded the Rs. 75 lacs that MGM Hospital has been showing as rent in their accounts every year. And if MGM Hospital is justifying the Rs. 75 lacs entry just an account entry, then it also raises questions about the authenticity of the income and expenditure account that the MGM Hospital has maintained, says Sandeep Thakur – the petitioner who gone to court against MGM Hospital. Sandeep Thakur says that the “notional rent” justification should be verified because it’s illogical to assume such a figure. This also means that MGM Hospital is suppressing some expenditure in the name of rent. In this reply to CIDCO, MGM Hospital has also confessed to third party interest by submitting the leave and license agreement that MGM Trust has made with Durga Medical Foundation Pvt. Ltd. without permission from CIDCO. And there’s more to the shady business. The agreement between the two does not mention the area of the hospital premise being given on rent. The letter submitted by MGM Hospital to CIDCO is proof enough for the latter to take action against MGM Trust for breach of agreement. One wonder’s why CIDCO is not sealing the chemist shop at MGM Hospital? Sandeep Thakur says that CIDCO should terminate the agreement with MGM Trust but you need guts to go against MGM Trust, which authority’s lack. As so many shady aspects of MGM Hospital are coming to light, it is putting a question mark on the credibility of all the colleges, hospitals and institutes of the MGM in Navi Mumbai.
