18 years old Dev Mehta’s solo art exhibition “Modernspective” was organized at Kamalnayan Bajaj Art Gallery in Mumbai. Dev started painting at 6 years of age. Expressing his passion for painting, he says art has come to him as God’s gift and every time he paints it feels like he is interacting with the canvas. Painting inspires him. The work displayed by Dev at the exhibition was appreciated by visitors as Dev painting through the different kinds of canvas like white, black, jute and linen colors, brushes, knifes and painting tools came alive in vivid colors.
The exhibition has been named “Modernspective” as Dev felt his paintings are made with a thought of something modern, something not visualized before, something which an artist has not done. Dev hopes his paintings and vision offer a perspective of a modern era of the future.
The showstopper painting of the exhibition was “Reverse Canvas”. In this one, Dev has used coffee for giving effect on the rear side of the canvas blending different tools in the painting.
Dev says that his family has played an important role.
Disability Rights Activist Dr Ketna Mehta who is Founder Trustee & Editor, Nina Foundation is Dev’s aunt. She shared the role his painting has played in her NGO.
