Devendra Fadnavis was officially named the Opposition Leader of the House in the Maharashtra state assembly by speaker Nana Patole. And the ruling party led by CM Uddhav Thackeray and others made sure they bring Devendra Fadnavis down for his poem in the house, “Me punha yein”.
Even as Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and NCP leader Jayant Patil mocked at Devendra Fadnavis on it, when he got his turn to address the house in his maiden address as State Opposition Leader, Devendra Fadnavis replied, “Its true I said ‘mee punha yein’ but didn’t give you the time table.”
He continued to say that he “would come back may be in time to inaugurate the several public projects he started as Chief Minister.”
He mocked the Shiv Sena and said that “the BJP got the biggest mandate in the state but political arithmetic prevailed over merit and now those who got 40% marks have formed the government.”
Talking to Chagan Bhujbal he said, “Don’t fear anything now. May be next time I will come back with you on our side. If Shiv Sena can make an alliance with Congress and NCP, anything can happen anytime in politics.”
