As per the report of the economic survey, there is a projection of almost a 8% growth in the state’s economy, up from 5.8% in 2014-2015. The growth is expected to come more from the industrial and service sectors.
However, the economic survey report projected a low state of affairs in the agricultural sector in wake of the backdrop of drought and unseasonal rainfall. It is feared that the expected dip in agricultural production will lead to food inflation.
The report, presented in the state assembly on Thursday, estimates a decline in the agricultural sector by 2.7%, but projects a 5.9% rise in the industrial sector and a 10.8% increase in services.
