Former PM Deve Gowda warns of farmers revolt due to Coronavirus effects

The outbreak of coronavirus pandemic has shattered the whole world shutting down economies and bring them down to their knees. The Former Prime Minister, Deve Gowda has predicted revolts and protests which would be provoked by the farmers and agricultural labourers amid Coronavirus lockdown. According to him the loss which will arise due to the revolts provoked by them will be much greater than the impact caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
Deve Gowda has suggested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to exempt activities like procurement, transportation, processing, export and marketing of fruits, vegetables and other agricultural commodities from the lockdown. He further urged the Union government to pay compensation to all the farmers who have suffered loss on crops harvested this season, reitrating that their lives are undoubtedly the most affected by the coronavirus outbreak.
Deve Gowda has asked the Prime Minister that the schemes under MNREGA should be allowed to be utilized in agriculture.

On the behalf of the farmers, The Former PM stated that the farmers are shocked and helpless due to the lockdown and they feel like falling from the frying pan into the fire.

Deve Gowda told PM Modi that if suggestions made by him were implemented, the marketing problems of perishable goods can be solved to a great extent after India has concurred a loss of more than 8 lakh crores rupees.
