A four-day-old baby boy was stolen from the maternity ward of a public hospital in northeast Mumbai. The police department has filed a case against a suspected lady who is absconding. The new born was stolen from the Sion Hospital while his mother, Mohini Nerurkar, was away to wash his clothes. When Mohini and her husband Mohan Nerurkar returned to the ward, their baby was missing. The police have stated that the alleged kidnapper was a woman who identified herself as Sangeeta and she had earlier been talking to the parents of the child claiming to be a relative of another patient in the ward. Police inspector SR Kaulekar informed us that other ladies in the ward have helped them to make a sketch of the unknown lady against whom a case of kidnapping under section 363 has been filed.
