FUTURE CITY STILL WALKS ON KUCCHA ROAD, RESIDENTS AWAIT THE DISTANCE TO BE BRIDGED

vashi1The absence of a proper approach road to Vashi Railway station from the east side and lack of proper foot-over bridge leaves the residents of Vashi, the most posh node of the future city in a situation of utter plight. The residents near the Vashi railway station must have paid a premium rate to the builders, due to the close vicinity of the station in the area, but the reality remains that it is not even connected to it. Thus the people residing or commuting to the place have to take a kuccha road for their way to the station. The issue grows bigger with the rains approaching the city, as a drain in the close vicinity floods the area, thereby submerging the temporary make-shift bridge acquired by the people about an year ago. But the residents claim to have been demanding a foot over bridge for connectivity to the station, since the past 5 years. Also to be noted a good number of school; going children, elderly people and women commute on this path. Navi Mumbai, the city of 21st century but the and Vashi, its most posh node, but the irony is that, Vashi railway station is still not connected via concrete roads and even a proper foot over bridge at the eastern side.
