At the Shree Krishna temple in Nerul, Krishna Janmashtami celebrations were organized by the Shree Krishna Chakradhar Seva Mandal. Festivity gripped the temple and its neighbourhood as a large number of devotees thronged the temple for the three days celebrations that began midnight. Former Minister Ganesh Naik joined the devotees for the celebrations.

The entire temple wore a festive look and people are immersed in joy as they celebrate Lord Krishna’s birthday. People from various parts of the city visit the temple each year to offer prayers on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami. The previous day, corporators Netra Shirke, Vishal Dholas, former corporator Shashikant Birajdar also sought blessings at the temple. From a pravachan to “palna” various rituals were carried out throughout the day, the temple premises resonated the fervor that marked Janmashtami all over.

Also present on the occasion were Shree Krishna Chakradhar Seva Mandal’s President L G Jungare, Vice President Vikas Pawde and Secretary Dr M B Choudhary among others. Speaking to NMTV, Dr M B Choudhary shared that they organize various religious, social and educational events. He said that they believe in gender equality.

Lord Krishna, the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu, was born to Devki and Vasudeo in Mathura and was raised by Yashoda and Nandbaba. With bureau inputs, Zeba Warsia for NMTV News.
